In 1860 Louis-Ulysse Chopard first founded his own watch-making company in the small farming village of Sonvilier, on the road from St.Irnier to La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland.

Since then, the name Chopard has earned an outstanding reputation for gold pocket watches, from extra flat to highly complicated. In the company's history of more than 130 years much has happened which is worth resurrecting.
