The David Yurman company and brand were created in 1980. A year later Yurman was chosen Designer of the Year by the Cultured Pearl Associations of America and Japan. The signature cable bracelet design was created in 1982. Other collections like the SilverIce collection and the Cable Watch Collection were introduced in the following years. The first Yurman store opened on Madison Avenue NYC in 1999, followed in 2002 by the South Coast Plaza Boutique and even more stores across the USA in later years.  In 2004 David and Sybil Yurman were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious JIC Gem Awards in New York. The brand celebrated 25 years of Classic American Design in 2005.
